Yeah, okay, so I live in one of the most expensive zip codes in the world, but it’s January and 60 degrees, sunny with no wind. I think I’ll stay. Pine siskins “z” ing at the thistle feeder and lesser goldfinches trying to bat them off. In the feeder next to them house finches, tit mice, and white-crowned sparrows take amiable turns at the seed ports until the scrub jays swoop in and scare everyone off. Then, like kings, the dogs saunter through the yard and even the jays are startled away. The feeders swing empty. Until a towhee comes in, followed by a bold finch, then another, and another…and the drama at the feeder starts over again…
I’ve had a lot of people asking when the next Franco is coming out and I honestly don’t know. She leased the apartment that she had in my head to some other characters, and while it’s good that her name’s still on the contract it’s been a while since I’ve seen her…
Yes, that’s pretty much what my office looks like. Jessica took liberties with the green wall and darker floor (which make me want to remodel), the view is more chapparal than grassland, and I’ve never seen the moon hanging that close to my window. And I don’t have raven on my chair.
What was I thinking?!? My very first post should have been a huge shout out to Jessica Miller at Corvus Design Studio (www.corvusart.com) for her phenomenal website design. I gave Jessica a vague description of what I wanted and on her very first submission she managed to capture exactly what I wanted. I love her creativity and intuitive grasp of what’s needed as well as her exteme patience with my lack of technical expertise. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thanks, Jessica!
Hi! Welcome to 2009 and welcome to my blog spot! I’m pleased it’s up and running in time for the new year. More than even the new year, for this is a new time. Of both endings and beginnings, but rather than cling to what is past I’m excited about diving into the future, with all it’s possibilities, challenges and unknown promise. Thanks for joining me along the journey!
